What started in 2017 with six daring pioneers and a vision to recultivate hemp as a food in Switzerland has since become much more than a trend. This nutrient-rich foodstuff has not only become hip, but also popular.
Hemp products are considered bold and progressive, with 30 farmers across Switzerland planting hemp on an area equivalent to about 70 football pitches. These pioneers are rather purist in their approach: even the raw materials should be peeled exclusively in Switzerland. In 2020, they therefore launched their own “factory,” the first of its kind in Switzerland.
They have now produced a real innovation: the first BioSuisse bars made from 100% regionally grown ingredients from Switzerland.
